Blog Tour

I'm honored that Skipping Stones at the Center of the Earth has been sent on a blog tour. That means serious, book-reviewing bloggers all over have been reading the advance reading copy, reviewing the book, and often interviewing me along the way. You can check out these reviews and interviews at

Take a look at what some of the story's earliest readers have to say.

And thanks to all those bloggers who participated.

Coming Soon . . .

We're less than a week from the release of Skipping Stones at the Center of the Earth. Today, I rode my bike to Wild Rumpus, the children's bookstores with the cats, chickens, and scorpions. I worked there my first year out of college, and it's a special place to me. Seeing Dizzy Fantastic and Her Flying Bicycle on their shelves this afternoon . . . well, that was something. I dropped off bookmarks for any interested customers.

Anyway, on my ride, I get caught on one-way paths around Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles. I finally figured out how the network of paths works, though, and now it seems appropriate that I had this experience while promoting the first novel I ever wrote (though it's the second one published). When I wrote Skipping Stones, I was still figuring out how to tell a big, long, wending story. But I did figure it out, and I wrote a book I'm awfully proud of. I'm proud I found my way around Minneapolis today, too. If you know me and my at times clueless sense of direction, you'd be proud, too.

One week, all!
