This morning I had the privilege of visiting Withrow Elementary. What a treat it was. The kids, their hardworking teachers, and their creative librarian welcomed me as warmly as an author can be welcomed. They made signs. They awarded a homemade check for Nelson's ice cream to me and my wife. They'd completed a scavenger hunt on this very website. They'd all read my book ahead of time.
I read a chapter of Dizzy Fantastic and then fielded questions. Questions about me, the book, the next book, and more. I tried to keep up with the questions, but I couldn't make a dent in them. Of the 140 students, it seemed at least 100 of them always had a hand in the air. I'm confident you all know more about me as a writer than I do by this point.
Thank you, thank you for your enthusiasm, Withrow. I hope to see you all soon.
